Erickson Ranch
Ray and Victoria were married in 1983, and now have two grown children. Our daughter is practicing nursing in Arizona and our son works at a local refinery. He is carrying on the Erickson Ranch tradition of farming by perfecting the art of making hard cider. Stay tuned. Farming has changed over the years and so, too, has Erickson Ranch. With the increasing demand for authentic, fresh, and locally grown produce, we definitely fit the bill as our jams are made from our fruit. Erickson Ranch is authentic. According to Victoria, “We grow what we make into jam and if we don’t grow it we source the best product possible. This certainly guarantees that our produce is picked at peak ripeness, ensuring the best tasting jams and jellies”. |
Lockewood Acres
Lockewood Acres was inspired by an old 1954 publication talking about the benefits of earthworms. In the center of the book there was a layout of “Serenity Acres” entitled “An Earthmaster Home”, a farm focused on self-sustenance. My wife and I both agreed, “We can do this!” Our original intent was to build a property that would sustain our family with wholesome and natural food. Going Organic was inspired by my wife and a new outlook we developed about at the land and how we take care of it, particularly our water supply. Our water table is static at only 18’ below the surface, so contaminants can easily enter the water supply. Here in the Sacramento Delta Watershed, this plays a big role in how we farm, how we control runoff, and how we nurture the soil. |

Community Grains
The bold flavors, aromas, and wholesome goodness of locally grown whole grains were once commonplace in our agrarian past. The grains’ distinct personalities – from the natural interaction of seeds, soil, weather, the farmer, and the mill – were nearly lost a century ago due to commodification and industrial milling. So we’ve teamed up with renowned local farmers, millers, bakers, chefs, and cooks like you to break from convention and create a production cycle that values flavor, nutrition, and transparency over uniformity — and we’re restoring a vibrant local grain economy in the process. For us, it all starts with working closely with our farmers. By forging deep ties with them, and staying connected to their planting cycles, we help bring the flavors and that freshness of whole grains back to the table again, and push the local grain movement forward. The industry doesn’t tell you where a bag of flour comes from, because it can’t. We believe wheat shouldn’t be anonymous, so we tell you the whole story – from seed to table. |

Marin Sun Farms
Over the last one hundred years the majority of food production, processing and distribution became consolidated into a handful of large corporations. So began the fast decline of our country’s small farms and farmers. The process of building resiliency in our local food system starts with diversifying supply back into the hands of many small farms and ensuring their continued operations and growth. Understanding this, in 1999 David Evans founded Marin Sun Farms as an extension of his upbringing on his family’s cattle ranch in the Point Reyes National Seashore and has grown the company to be a gateway to market for many small farms raising livestock under the stringent protocol and values the company was founded on.
Today, Marin Sun Farms has grown to be fully vertically integrated from pasture to processing to plate. We employ and empower local folks in Petaluma, Point Reyes Station and Oakland with good jobs including ranch hands, livestock handlers, butchers, packers, drivers, sales people, administrators and dreamers. |
